Accommodation Options

The design philosophy used at Lakeview recognises the diverse needs of a retiring community, from the early retiree (minimum aged 50) to the very frail. Market research indicates that retiring folk do not want to move into “an old age home”, preferring an environment where they can enjoy an active retirement whilst having the security of frail care assistance, if required. We have consequently designed the village to offer a variety of interests, which create a lifestyle of active involvement.

Low Maintenance: The village is constructed from face brick with tiled roofs and low maintenance trimmings, contributing to a low maintenance budget.

All common property areas, outside of those immediately adjacent to cottages, are landscaped with natural indigenous vegetation which, after the eradication of alien invasive plants, require very little maintenance and enhanced the fauna and flora of an area seriously damaged by historic cane growing activities, and the construction of the N2 highway.

To meet the requirements of this diverse community we have various accommodation options, from totally independent to fully assisted living. The village offers:

Simplex Cottages (phases 1, 2, 3A, 4 & 6)

The cottages are all constructed on single level platforms with sturdy raft foundations. There are two basic designs, depending on whether rear or front entry. They are a very spacious 145m2 and offer a lounge/dining room with open plan kitchen, 2 large bedrooms with 2 bathrooms (mes) and a generous study (3rd bedroom). The cottage is designed to take maximum advantage of outdoor/indoor living with a comfortable verandah. Each unit has a double garage (remote controlled door), a private yard for laundry and refuse storage.

Simplex Cottages (phases 5 & 7)

The cottages are all constructed in blocks of 4 with two units downstairs, which gain street access from the front, and two units upstairs, which gain access from the rear. They will be developed with either double or single garages and are also very spacious, offering a lounge/dining room with open plan kitchen, 2 large bedrooms with 2 bathrooms (mes) and a generous study in the 3 bedroom units. The cottages are designed to take maximum advantage of outdoor/indoor living with a comfortable verandah. Each unit has either a single or double garage (remote controlled door) and a private yard for laundry and refuse storage.
